Emergency Assistance

Emergency Assistance
Tuesday – Friday 8:30am – 11:30am

On any given day there are between 25-50 individuals who come in need of help. In our waiting room, our hospitality table has coffee and treats to help pass the time for our guests. The dignity and comfort of our clients is of utmost importance.

Many clients are working individuals or neighbors on a fixed income who find themselves in need of rent assistance, prescription assistance, utility assistance or groceries to help them make it until the next paycheck arrives. Sometimes our clients need transportation assistance in the form of a bus pass to get to work, to doctor appointments or to the next job interview.

Other times our homeless guests need hygiene items, a change of clothes or supplemental food to get by.  In these cases, the wonderful volunteers of Emergency Assistance greet our clients with compassion and great care as we try to ease their burdens to the best of our ability.

One of our clients’ greatest challenges is transportation.  Many of our newly employed friends find themselves in a quandary trying to get to and from work without the resources to pay for a monthly bus pass.  A donation of 50 dollars would pay for a monthly pass for a newly employed man or woman who is in the process of moving beyond homelessness. If you are willing to provide a “hand-up”, we would greatly appreciate your help.

Tuesday – Friday 7:15am – 8:30am
Saturdays 12:00 – 12:45pm
Sundays 1:00 – 2:00pm
